Following the violent and tragic school shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School, our founder, Michael Baroody, MD collaborated with volunteers from the Leadership Development Department at the Yale School of Management to design and implement our ARC program.
In 2018, 12.14 was chosen as a service partner by the University of Pennsylvania’s Master of Applied Positive Psychology program to assist in the further development of the ARC program. Using valid and reliable surveys, a theory-based evaluation protocol was developed and implemented to measure the effectiveness of the ARC program.
ARC is a character development program that promotes character strengths, confidence and emotional regulation in youth from 6 – 19 years old. Research shows that the use and development of these components correlates with grit and resilience, and with greater well-being.
